THE OPPORTUNITY: We are looking for a full time Mobile (Android and iPhone) Software Engineer who is interested in working on a small team in a fast paced environment in Olathe, KS. If you are passionate about building amazing applications utilizing the latest technologies, then this is your opportunity. At Elecsys, you will work with engineers who design and build devices here at our Olathe headquarters. These little devices live all around the globe and communicate from remote locations via satellite and other mainstream carries (AT&T, Verizon, etc.). We design and build the modems; our devices collect data in extreme locations, and transmit the data to our backend server. If you want to work with engineers who are free-spirited, creative, and even funny, who like to make plans to take over the world, we want your help.

Major Responsibilities

  • Participate in the ground-up new mobile software designs that complement the current suite of applications.

  • Iterate rapidly and work collaboratively with product owners, developers, and other members of the development team.

  • Partner with QA by writing unit and automated tests.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in development for mobile devices as well as in-depth knowledge of iOS SDK or Android SDKs / NDKs.

  • Solid knowledge of Java/Swift.

  • Experience building rich and complex apps that delight users

  • Experience working on developing backend API’s and a strong understanding of REST API Design

  • Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, and offer suggestions to improve processes.

  • Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and works well in small team environments.

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR requirements.

Position Summary: The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for the leadership, functional management and overall coordination of all manufacturing operations at Elecsys. The position reports directly to the President. The Director of Manufacturing is an integral player in achieving the company's revenue and profit goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Establish short- and long-term production plans and strategies for the Company in collaboration with other colleagues and staff.

  • Establish annual and monthly production objectives and operating budgets in support of the Company's long-term strategic plans and provide ongoing forecasts of anticipated results.

  • Set appropriate metrics and measure ongoing operating results to proactively manage production processes and individual team member performance.

  • Mentor and train multiple department managers and supervisors to achieve objectives.

  • Optimize and manage departmental operating procedures, processes, and policies to achieve operating margin, delivery, and quality performance targets.

  • Acquire detailed knowledge of product logistic, production, and functional requirements.

  • Coordinate new product launches with the Business Development and Engineering departments.

  • Occasional domestic travel for vendor, technology, or customer meetings.

Skills/Requirements

  • At least 10 years of manufacturing management experience in established organizations manufacturing electronic industrial products.

  • Five plus years of experience managing and coordinating automated electronic manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Detailed practical knowledge of electronic technology and systems.

  • A proven record of achieving production, delivery, and quality objectives in a growing technology or industrial product organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to build, inspire and retain a high performance manufacturing team.

  • Proven ability to plan and manage at the operational level.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.

OEM Sales Manager

Position Summary: The OEM Sales Manager is responsible for initiating new contacts and building business relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers. The successful candidate must be able to identify and understand an OEM’s requirements and specify custom Elecsys technology solutions to address those needs. The OEM Sales Manager’s goal is to expand sales of custom electronic products to OEM’s in the North American market.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage new major client accounts.

  • Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of various OEM markets, overall technology industry direction, and competitor and customer strategies.

  • Systematically identify and qualify sales prospects and win new business.

  • Assist in establishing annual and monthly individual sales objectives in coordination with the Company's long-term strategic plans.

  • Manage annual and monthly personal sales goals and maintain accurate forecasts.

  • Establish product and customer sales strategies for the Company in collaboration with other members of the Executive Team.

  • Establish annual and monthly sales objectives in support of the Company's long-term strategic plans and provide ongoing forecasts of anticipated sales results.

  • Moderate travel (30%-40%) within North America.

Skills/Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience selling to established OEM organizations serving comparable industrial customers and markets.

  • A proven record of achieving sales growth objectives in technology or industrial markets.

  • Demonstrated sales skills to identify, qualify, and close industrial customer sales.

  • Proven ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.

  • Outstanding consultative selling skills with experience penetrating large industrial organizations and developing relationships with key decision makers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.

  • Ability to network with other organizations to uncover and execute mutually profitable sales partnering opportunities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
