VP of Sales

Position Summary: The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the leadership, functional management and overall coordination of all global sales initiatives at Elecsys. The position reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the company's Executive Team. The Vice President of Sales is an integral player in achieving the company's sales, revenue and profitability goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Establish product and customer sales strategies for the Company in collaboration with other members of the Executive Team.

  • Establish annual and monthly sales objectives in support of the Company's long-term strategic plans and provide ongoing forecasts of anticipated sales results.

  • Set appropriate metrics and measure results to lead the Sales Team by proactively managing the sales process and individual team member performance.

  • Mentor and train Sales Team members to achieve objectives.

Skills/Requirements

  • At least 10 years professional sales experience in established organizations serving comparable industrial customers and markets.

  • Five plus years in senior sales leadership roles in established organizations serving comparable industrial customers and markets.

  • A proven record of achieving sales growth objectives in technology or industrial markets.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to build, inspire and retain a highly successful sales team.

    Firmware Engineer

      Product Support Technician - Electronics

      • After a training period, travel will be required to perform installs and troubleshoot problems in the field.

      • Strong PC skills with Database Programs, MS Word, Excel.

        Product Manager - Railroad

        We are looking for a Product Manager to lead and manage the growth of our railroad segment product lines.

        As Product Manager, you will identify, evaluate and promote opportunities to develop profitable new products and services to accelerate the expansion of our innovative M2M solutions in the railroad industry. You must understand the railroad industry, its operational challenges and the potential of Elecsys IoT solutions to address the market needs of Class I, short line and regional railroads.

        You will work on a team that is charged with product line contribution as a business unit. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the industry. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

        You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with engineering to define product release requirements. You will work with sales and marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for the railroad segment, attending industry conferences, conducting market research and working with key customers as required.

        KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

        • Manage the entire product line life cycle of new and existing railroad products from strategic planning to development, launch and ongoing support as required

        • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, competitive analysis and validation supported by ongoing visits to customers, prospects and partners

        • Create compelling business cases for new products which offer significant revenue potential that is quantifiable and achievable

        • Articulate the product positioning, key selling points and define the pricing strategy for rail segment products

        • Drive requirements and feature definitions for assigned products across development teams, serving as the voice of the customer to ensure product integrity and market success

        • Analyze potential partner and distribution relationships for the product

        • Develop and implement a go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

        • Travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America (15%)

        REQUIREMENTS

        • 5+ years of product management, operations or technical experience with technology-related products in the railroad industry

        • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field or Associate's degree in Electronics

        • Knowledgeable in technology with a strong technical aptitude

        • Working knowledge of general mechanical principles and applications

        • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills

        Job Description
